ANICA
MILBERGER


Anica is a strong educator with regular education, special education and deaf education experience. She was a special education and hearing impaired preschool teacher in the Turner School District and the Shawnee Mission School District before she stayed home with her young children. Anica has also worked as a family service coordinator with Infant Toddler Services of Johnson County.

She utilizes music, movement and sign language both at home and in the classroom to improve communication and learning. Baby Sing and Sign is a perfect fit for her skills and background. She greatly enjoys providing a fun learning environment for infants to express themselves and to bond with their caregivers.   

Anica has dual Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Deaf Education and Special Education from the University of Kansas. Her dual Bachelor’s degrees are from the University of Missouri in Speech and Hearing Science and Psychology.

Anica lives in Shawnee, Kansas with her husband; Mike, daughter, Lilli and son, Nate.

Anica teaches Baby Sing & Sign classes at Shawnee Mission Medical Center and in Western Shawnee.

CARRIE
WRIGHT


Carrie is an Early Childhood Special Education teacher in the Blue Valley School District. She has taught preschoolers, typically developing and with special needs, for 13 years.

In 2007, she was the recipient of the Fox 4 Crystal Apple Teaching Award. Carrie serves on several different committees in her field including the Early Childhood Leadership Team for her school district.  

Carrie attended The University of Kansas for both her undergraduate and graduate studies. She has a B.A. in Education and Early Childhood and a Masters Degree in Special Education. She uses music and movement as a main component of learning in her classroom.

Carrie lives in Mission, Kansas with her yellow lab and two cats.

DEBORA
KUHL


Debbie is a Vocal Music Educator at Westview Elementary School in Olathe, KS. She is a career educator who has extensive experience teaching vocal and instrumental music to students from preschool through high school. Debbie has Bachelor Degrees in both Music Education and Music Therapy from the University of Kansas. Debbie also completed a Master of Education Degree from Emporia State University with a concentration in teaching English Language Learners.

Debbie began using Baby Sing & Sign resources in 2006 with physically disabled students during music classes. She noted improvement in verbal skills, comprehension, self esteem, and enthusiasm. This success has led Debbie to use sign language during music instruction with English Language Learners with great success.

In the Spring, 2009, Debbie was a finalist for Kansas Teacher of the Year for Arts and Disabilities. She was featured as part of the Info Olathe Online. She is also a member of the Music Educators National Conference.

Debbie is married to Al Kuhl for 25 years. They have four children, Derrick, Renee, Grace, and Trent...and three dogs!

Deb teaches Baby Sing & Sign classes for English Language Learners through the Olathe School District.

JENNIFER
FERGUSON


Jennifer was a special education preschool teacher for ten years with the Blue Valley School District in Overland Park, Kansas where she worked with typically developing young children and children with special needs. While in Blue Valley, she received the Fox 4 News Crystal Apple Award and the Excellence in Education Award for her teaching contributions.  She was a valued mentor to new teachers and student teachers alike.  Jennifer also played a key role in the development and implementation of Early Learning Standards for the district and was asked to serve on the State of Kansas Standards Development Committee to assist in the development of Kansas Early Learning Guidelines. 

She co-owns Sing & Sign Resources LLC, manages the licensure programming, and teaches classes at two major medical centers in the Kansas City area.

Jennifer attended the University of Kansas for both her undergraduate and graduate studies.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and dual master’s degrees in Early Childhood Special Education and Deaf Education.  Throughout her teaching experiences, Jennifer has consistently used sign language, music, and movement to enhance communication and learning. She is continuing that mission through her Baby Sing and Sign® teaching and training.

Jennifer lives in Leawood, Kansas, with her husband Aaron, daughter Maizie and miniature dachshund, Izzy.
